Shri Mauvin Godinho’s vision for Mahila Bhavan comes from a simple belief: the women of Dabolim already have so much potential.

Many already know how to stitch, tailor, create and make things with their hands. Skills learnt at home, often from their mothers and grandmothers, and carried quietly through everyday life.

What was needed was a space where these skills could be taken further.

For many women, especially those managing homes and families, travelling far for training or work is not always easy. Mahila Bhavan brings that opportunity closer — within their own neighbourhood — where they can learn, practise, create and find ways to earn from what they know.

The vision is not simply to teach a woman a skill. It is to help her realise what that skill can become.
